FAQs

Curiosity and asking questions are expected from a PSYCH-CHEK athlete. Luckily, PSYCH-CHEK can answer the questions you have here!

  • My approach focuses on both individual needs and team needs. This includes addressing emotional regulation, conflict management, leadership, coach support, emotional intelligence and much more depending on the needs and goals of the team. At an organisational level, creating mastery and growth climates to ultimately facilitate a culture of optimal performance amongst players, coaches and staff are key areas of interest.

  • Sport psychology is concerned with helping athletes of any levels to achieve their maximum potential by addressing the mental aspect of the game. It also looks to educate and teach individuals how to develop optimal mental skills that can be transferred inside and outside of sport. Sport psychology seeks to help maintain good aspects of the individual to stay the way it is, as well as improving less developed aspects of the individual.

Numerous topics, such as how people best learn new skills, developing optimal confidence and motivation, using visualisation, encouraging helpful self-talk, building a great mindset, and many more concepts are all part of sport psychology.

  • I’ll keep it brief as more information on PSYCH-CHEK’s services can be here.

    1. We’ll begin (as psychologist and client) by determining what your individual needs are, using observations, interviews and questionnaires.

    2. We will then devise a bespoke action plan which will help you address your needs.

    3. We will monitor progress in relation to your desired outcome, adapting expectations and action plans if, and/or when necessary.

  • In my opinion, the most valuable take away for you, as the client, is that you’ll develop a stronger sense of self-awareness and psychological skills that you can apply to all aspects of life.

If this hasn’t quite sold it yet, you will also receive a tailor made programme made up of personalised support, graphics and action plans, all devised to meet your individual needs.
