Do You Receive The Right Kind Of Support?

Are the people around you promoting or hindering your performance, well-being, and growth?

We have family, friends, and acquaintances that have a profound influence on us. But it's important to know that some may be helpful, and others can be damaging to us. However, each person does provide a certain type of social support, so just because they don't give you emotional support through empathy and empathy doesn't mean they are holding you back! Some people can provide us support in terms of money, food, and transport. Others can provide a voice of logic and provide instructions on how to better yourself.

As you'd expect, one person can provide all these types of support, whereas some may only provide one type of support. Therefore, it's important to identify what form of support people provide and whether its necessary for you to receive it at that certain time.

For example, you may reply on your mum to provide emotional support after losing a match, but then use the coach to provide you with support regarding what you should do to move forward.  Take home message: Ask yourself who is in your support network and what form of support do they provide you?
